The forecast for Saturday’s St. Jerome’s Fancy Farm Picnic is sunny and HOT. And, as RunSwitch partner and co-founder Scott Jennings recently discussed in his monthly column for the Louisville Courier-Journal, Kentucky’s gubernatorial race is set to take center stage at the annual event.
Since 1880, the Fancy Farm picnic has served as one of the premier political events in the state, featuring seasoned and rookie political candidates. The event also draws a range of guests…and media…from across (and even outside) the Commonwealth.
This year, RunSwitch PR is proud to return to the Fancy Farm Picnic as the sponsor the event’s official media filing center. RunSwitch first sponsored the media filing center last year and received positive reviews from the media and event organizers.
“We are grateful to have RunSwitch donate this service again,” said Mark Wilson, political chairman of the picnic. “Last year I heard from numerous reporters who took advantage of the press filing center and how appreciative they were of the added accommodations. We hope they will return to the picnic again this year for what is sure to be another great day in Fancy Farm, Kentucky.”
The media filing center is a tour bus fully equipped with access to high-speed internet and work spaces for reporters who need to compile stories or conduct interviews. The bus will be located directly behind the speaking platform at the Fancy Farm Picnic, and a media assistance table will also be available at the entrance to the bus.
Anyone who isn’t a member of the media shouldn’t feel left out. As with all important political events that take place in the Commonwealth, RunSwitch PR will be onsite to observe and provide commentary via our social media channels.
We invite you to follow us on Twitter at @RunSwitchPR for updates and live streaming video (via Periscope) from the picnic.
