Long-time Campaign Treasurer Laura LaRue joins RunSwitch as Senior Advisor

(Louisville, KY) — RunSwitch Public Relations announced today the launch of its newest division: Bluegrass Compliance, a full-service campaign finance reporting consultancy. The expansion combines over 60 years of expertise in Kentucky politics and campaign finance, offering candidates and political organizations the support needed to deal with the various campaign finance reporting regimes in Frankfort and Washington D.C.

Laura LaRue, a 30-year veteran of the industry, brings her practice and expertise to RunSwitch as the Senior Advisor for Bluegrass Compliance. LaRue has worked on over 60 campaigns in a treasury and compliance capacity, offering unmatched experience. She is Kentucky’s recognized expert in compiling and filing campaign reports to the Registry of Election Finance and the Federal Election Commission, as well as managing the various database services required to keep campaign records up-to-date.

“After three decades of doing this kind of work, joining the team at RunSwitch is a thrilling capstone to my career,” said LaRue. “RunSwitch has put together a terrific team with a passion for accuracy, on-time reporting, and ensuring that compliance and administrative issues are handled in a by-the-book way that frees candidates to spend as much of their time as possible communicating with voters.”

RunSwitch PR’s political team, led by firm Co-Founder Scott Jennings and Senior Vice President Kaylee Price, engaged LaRue because of her experience and desire to train the next generation of campaign compliance experts.

“The three of us have worked closely together over the years on numerous projects, and Scott and I couldn’t be happier that Laura is coming in-house to build on her legacy,” said Price, a senior advisor to several political candidates and organizations. “Compliance work is an essential piece of every campaign, and I always trust Laura to keep us on track.”

Emily White, a recent accounting graduate of Morehead State University, brings a background in banking, public relations, and political organizing to the Bluegrass Compliance team. She will become LaRue’s top deputy in campaign treasury and compliance services.

“The nuts and bolts of political campaigns has been of interest to me for many years, and I am thrilled to join RunSwitch and Bluegrass Compliance to learn from Laura and to serve clients with an unmatched level of professionalism,” said White.

Jennings, a longtime campaign advisor, said a critical part of winning campaigns is airtight compliance and strict adherence to the rules of the road.

“Compliance can be a tricky thing for campaigns, and I wanted to ensure that Kentucky candidates have a place to go for these services. The secret of our success at RunSwitch has always been attracting top talent. With Laura, Emily, and Kaylee, we have three professionals dedicated to top-of-the line client service. Any candidate or political organization can rest assured that their compliance needs will be met accurately and on-time,” Jennings said. “We’ve seen it all over the years and our promise is to keep you out of the soup and focused on the campaign trail.”
