Amazon, the world’s largest online retailer, has had a presence in Kentucky for more than 15 years. In order to demonstrate their commitment to the communities they serve and engage in tangible civic involvement, the company has for two years now given away Kindles to local schools. The intention of this project is to pick schools that serve students in need and offer the Kindle as a new, interactive learning tool for the classroom.
As the full service PR firm for Amazon, RunSwitch helped coordinate logistics and media for Kindle giveaways in Louisville, Lexington, Campbellsville and Boone County.
The RunSwitch team planned and executed all four Kindle donations garnering significant media attention for the company in each media market. More importantly, RunSwitch was able to strengthen Amazon’s relationship with the local community by helping them, in partnership with the schools, enrich the learning atmosphere for students in need.
