Smoking Cessation Campaign

THE ISSUE:

The Kentucky Medical Association (KMA), the leading professional organization for physicians statewide, called on RunSwitch to help develop a campaign addressing one of the Commonwealth’s most pressing public health epidemics: smoking. The KMA sought a campaign that educated smokers on the resources available to help them quit—most notably, the advice and support of their physicians.

OUR STRATEGY:

RunSwitch worked with the KMA to create a branded campaign, website, messaging, video, social media content and other resources that encourage patients to speak with their physicians about smoking cessation. We developed printable materials and visuals for physicians to use in their offices, directing patients to the website to learn more about the benefits of committing to quit.

RESULTS:

The Commit to Quit website continues to receive hundreds of visitors each week, and smoking cessation remains an important issue for public officials, providers, health care advocates and media alike. Several prominent health care organizations signed on to the campaign, including Baptist Health, KentuckyOne Health, St. Elizabeth Physicians and the Greater Louisville Medical Society.
