Steve Bryant is co-founder of RunSwitch PR and has more than a decade of experience managing public relations and issue advocacy campaigns for a wide variety of clients. He is an expert in health care and health policy communications.  Steve specializes on issues that impact government regulated industries and is adept at identifying stakeholders and concentrating them into powerful networks that can be quickly mobilized to help achieve client objectives.

He has strong media, state government, business community and healthcare industry relationships in Kentucky and is a veteran of numerous issue advocacy campaigns for clients in the pharmaceutical, utility, long-term care and insurance sectors.  Steve has worked with numerous Fortune 500 companies and national organizations such as Allstate, Aramark, Boeing, the Consumer Healthcare Products Association, Honeywell, Pfizer, PhRMA, the US Chamber of Commerce and the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States (DISCUS) among others.

Since founding RunSwitch PR, he has led a variety of successful media and issue advocacy campaigns, including successful efforts to help to defeat legislation that would require a prescription for certain cold medicines and numerous issue campaigns to protect and expand patient access to care.

Before RunSwitch, Steve built his own public affairs firm, B|K Public Affairs, which he successfully operated for several years in Kentucky.  Prior to that, he helped Louisville-based Peritus Public Relations grow from a small firm with one office to a regional presence with offices in five states. His work for Peritus included managing major national issue campaigns and statewide initiatives in Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio and Tennessee.

Prior to moving to Kentucky in 2007, Steve worked with PR-giant Hill & Knowlton in Florida’s capitol city of Tallahassee where he consulted on some of the state’s most high-profile issues including property insurance, nuclear power, affordable housing and real estate development. He advised one of the nation’s largest insurers after hurricanes ravaged the southeast from 2003 to 2005, coordinated a statewide advocacy campaign to build support for nuclear power and provided crisis communications counsel to a major New Orleans university after Hurricane Katrina.

Steve is a graduate of Florida State University.
